Donate to Mata’s Dressember Team!

What are you planning to wear this holiday season? A few of our employees have already picked a theme for this month: Dresses! Why? Because we’re participating in the annual Dressember event, hosted by the Dressember Foundation, to bring an end to modern day slavery and human trafficking. By committing to wear a dress everyday in December, and encouraging friends and family to donate, our employees will help raise money to assist victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and violence. In 2014, Dressember raised over $465,000, and we’re excited to see how much is raised this year!

The Mata Team wearing Mata dresses for the first day of Dressember!

Dresses left to right: Tea for Two dress, Maggie & Mary dress (sold-out, Mid-Century dress blue is similar), Paper Doll dress red, Devonshire dress plaid

Our annual participation in Dressember started after learning that there are currently over 30 million people trapped in slavery, more than any point in history. We are committed to fair trade principles, and we believe in empowering women around the world by creating safe and sustainable work conditions. So we gladly participate in Dressember in an effort to support this mission, as the Dressember Foundation and its partners, the International Justice Mission and the A21 Campaign, work toward ending the injustices of slavery and human trafficking.

How can you show your support?  By following our social media and blog posts for Dressember and visiting our team page to donate.  Even a small donation of $10 or $15 can make a huge impact and work towards rescuing victims of human trafficking and ending modern day slavery.  We look forward to your involvement and hope you cheer for the Mata Dressember team while they participate in this meaningful fundraiser!
