Sseko Sandals are produced in Uganda and help enable young women to attend university. Ssekohires academically gifted young women during the nine month gap between secondary school and university, allowing them to earn money that will go directly towards their education. At the end of their nine month term, Sseko will match 100% of their savings with a college scholarship.

The Greenheart Shop provides shopping experiences (both here in Chicago, and online) that support fair trade, eco-friendly products and local social enterprises. They give consumers the ability to purchase beautifully handcrafted goods, while supporting community development projects, safe working conditions, and sustainable environmental practices.

Panda Mittens by People Tree £26.00

For every beautiful garment People Tree makes, there’s an equally beautiful change happening somewhere in the world. They have partnered with Fair Trade artisans and farmers in the developing world to produce a collection of ethical and eco fashion.

Mini Whimsical Basket – by The Little Market $18

When we asked Justine what she will use this basket for, she quickly responded “for my garlic, because garlic has a special place in my heart and it needs its own special spot in my kitchen!”

The Little Market‘s mission is to build sustainable partnerships with artisans from around the world, by connecting them with customers through an online marketplace. They seek to empower women artisans to rise above poverty by sourcing ethically and practicing fair trade principles.
