They easily pair with leggings, chunky sweaters, and booties for endless winter looks. For inspiration, we asked our team to share how they style their Mata dresses all-winter-long.

Winter Dresses: 3 Looks for Your Winter Wardrobe

#1: A shirtdress  makes for the perfect winter dress, especially in a plaid print!

Mata of the Moment: Sabina Shirtdress

I love all the Sabina Shirtdresses Mata has made. I own three! They're flattering, comfortable and just the right length for a shorter gal like myself. The Rose Wine color is my favorite because it's a nice warm tone that is seasonally appropriate. I love plaid, and shirt dresses in general, these days. They are easy to throw on, and go well with any boot. You can dress one up with a heel or go casual with some lace ups.

#2: Sleeveless dresses can be perfect winter dresses – just pair with a warm layer underneath!

Mata of the Moment: Fresco Shift Dress

This dress is one of those unicorn pieces that you can style endlessly. I love a versatile piece and stretching my closet as much as possible, and this works so well for that. The jumper/overall vibe is a winter favorite of mine--layering this over a black turtleneck plus knee boots is an easy everyday look, plus it's super comfy. A slim crewneck sweater underneath works, too. I've been into closet tracking lately (yes, I have a spreadsheet), so it's thrilling that this summer dress also works for winter. My dog Toby and I are religious dog beach attendees, and I lived in this as a sophisticated beach cover up. It easily transitioned from Lake Michigan to cocktails at the Warbler (I add these earrings). Now in winter, it's still a go-to. A definite closet win.

#3: Brighten your cold weather wardrobe with winter dresses that pop!

Mata of the Moment: Nina Ruched dress

As someone who often falls somewhere in between two sizes at most department stores, my go-to easy fit is often knit - it’s just a bonus that this one happens to be organic and fair trade. For me, the Nina Ruched dress in Twilight is a good combo of figure flattering and subtle, which makes it a good choice for me. I can pair it with a cardigan when working at Mata or just add some jewelry to dress up a bit for date night.

Though I’ve always loved to design with bright colors, before working at Mata my wardrobe was a sea of different shades of black. Adding color AND prints to my wardrobe has been a bit of a process. I love that this beautiful blue is bright, but also acts as a neutral –  it goes with most everything. When I brought this outfit home to try it out, my boyfriend said it reminded him of something Joan Holloway would wear. As a big fan of the women of Mad Men, I was sold.

Winter Dresses for Any Wardrobe

When temperature highs are in the 30s, getting dressed (heck, getting out of bed) feels like an Olympic sport. Add a pep to your step during these dreary days and rock a patterned winter dress.
