If you are fashionably conscious (or consciously fashionable), then we have good news for you! Some of you might have noticed the new PETA-Approved Vegan logo on the righthand side of Mata’s blog page. We proudly display this logo because 100% of our clothing is vegan, as well as a good portion of our jewelry.
Mata Traders has even been featured on WCIU’s You & Me this Morning (Channel 26 for you Chicago folks) with vegan blogger Ashlee Piper. The models rock vegan apparel and jewelry including Mata’s own Tassel Moon earrings in aqua and the Diamond in the Rough studs in silver.

Now, you might be wondering about some of our jewelry pieces that are made out of bone, like our Darling Doily earrings. The cooperatives make these pieces from water buffalo bone sourced from local markets– the bone is a byproduct from butchers around India.
